FAQs
Who is this training for?
This isn’t for someone who wants to coast through a course. It’s for people who want to teach with confidence, skill, and understanding. If you want to sequence intelligently, adjust safely, and lead classes that actually work for a wide range of students, you’re in the right place.
Do I need experience?
We require at least one to two years of consistent yoga practice with ideally 6 months of that time in the studo. This ensures you come in with a solid foundation and a body and mind ready to absorb the depth of our training. Beginners are welcome if they meet this baseline, but we expect curiosity, commitment, and the seriousness this path deserves.
Is this Yoga Alliance certified?
Yes. Our courses are certified by Yoga Pros, formerly Yoga Alliance Professionals in the UK. This is the body that accredits professional yoga teacher training programs. The name has changed, but the certification standards remain the same.
What makes your approach different?
We cut through the fluff. We teach what actually works - biomechanics, intelligent sequencing, hands-on skills, and the confidence to lead any class. No posturing, no vague spirituality, just precise, practical, and grounded teaching.
What equipment or props will I need?
We provide mats, blocks, bolsters, and straps at the studio, but we recommend that prospective instructors bring their own kit at the very least your own yoga mat. Having your own equipment helps you develop a consistent practice, understand how to use the tools intuitively, and be fully prepared to teach in any setting.
What format is the YTT and specialist training?
Our training is a hybrid of live online sessions, pre-recorded content, and in-person classes at the studio. This gives you flexibility while ensuring you get hands-on experience and real-time guidance from our instructors.
Where does the in-person training take place?
All in-person sessions are held at the Sìdà Yoga studio on Lerret Road, Portland, Dorset, DT5 1GB (UK). The studio is fully equipped for teaching, practice, and workshops.
Do you offer teaching opportunities during the course?
Yes. Trainees gain hands-on teaching experience throughout the program. While we prepare you to teach professionally and connect you to networks, we don’t guarantee jobs after graduation.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We make excellence accessible without compromising quality.
We offer Early-bird discounts for longer courses, along with monthly payment options for those who wish to spread out their investment.
Is there work I have to complete before taking a course?
On booking your yoga teacher training, we will send through a questionnaire and once you have completed your booking we will send through a reading list and any pre-course requirements. Most of the course materials will be reference material and we have worked hard to ensure all pre-reading is achievable before the course start dates.
For our continuing education courses and workshops there will be no required reading or pre-course projects, however, we will suggest further reading material for those who want to complete further work on the particular subject at their leisure.
What if I’m not ‘flexible’?
Flexibility is a skill, not a requirement. We teach alignment, awareness, strength, and embodiment, not body ideals.
Can I take workshops if I’m not enrolled in the full training?
Absolutely. Our specialist workshops and continuing education modules are open to any serious practitioner or teacher looking to deepen their skills.
Why do I need to be approved to join a course?
We use a pre-approval process to ensure applicants have the appropriate level of experience and readiness for our yoga teacher training.
This helps us create a supportive group environment, maintain high teaching standards and allowing us to be certain that the course is a good fit for you as a participant, and we're a good fit for you.
